Transport for London on time as usual

by lavikingasnack @ 2006-01-24 - 23:47:36

In February I applied for a job as a lost property assistant with London Underground, being a bit of a transport buff.

It took them till May to call me for interview, by which point I'd already had two other jobs, and had me thinking that If I was London Underground, would I want to employ anyone who hadn't got a job in three months?

Anyway..

Three careers later...
Look what I got in my inbox today.

I especially like the "we appreciate this may be disapointing for you" bit.

Incidentally tho- if you every get the chance to go for an interview there, GO! its amazing. Everything thats ever been left on the tube, train bus, etc in the bowels of Baker Street Station.

Quality...as you kno', i'm a bit of a bus fan meself, but i do have a spot in me heart for the underground. I love the old ladies down there - you don't get many of them, but the ones who do venture down have got a hell of an attitude. They need it, like. I especially love the way the train doors curve so that if it's really full and people can't squish on any more, my head and shoulders stick out the top of the train cos i'm 6ft odd. I also like the way if you blow your nose after a day on the tube, your snot turns black. Yum.

..the lost property department does sound amazing. Like the kind of treasure trove you imagined as a small snotty child.
